A permit may be required for the felling of trees for various reasons. In particular, a felling permit is required in the following cases where trees are subject to special protection. 27.06.2017 Protection of trees as "protected landscape elements". Trees can be protected by the federal states through tree protection ordinances or statutes as so-called "protected landscape elements" (Section 29 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act).
