Chamber of Architects and Engineers: Tasks

Overview of the tasks of the Chamber of Architects and Engineers.

The tasks of the Chamber of Architects and Engineers are diverse. These include, for example:

  • Representation of professional interests,
  • appointment, swearing-in and appointment of experts,
  • defining and supervising professional obligations,
  • Settlement of disputes as arbitration board,
  • Preparation of expert opinions (in particular on professional issues) at the request of authorities or courts,
  • promotion of building culture, construction, landscape conservation and urban development,
  • professional education and training of the members as well as those other registered in the lists according to § 15 Abs. 1 Nr. 1 bis 5 und 7 ArchIngKG,
  • Keeping the lists and registers in accordance with § 15 of the Chamber of Architects and Engineers Act (ArchIngKG) and issuing the certificates and information necessary for the exercise of the profession.

Act on the use of the professional titles architect, urban planner and consulting engineer as well as on the establishment of a chamber of architects and engineers (Architects and Engineers Act - ArchIngKG).
