Professional driver: Proof of basic qualification

A basic qualification must be proven by anyone who wants to carry out journeys by road or passenger transport as a professional driver.

If, as a professional driver, you carry out journeys in road or passenger transport for commercial purposes on public roads, you will need proof of initial qualification in addition to the valid driving licence.

You will receive confirmation of the initial qualification by means of a certificate from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) after passing the corresponding examination.

  • driving licence,
  • Identity card.

You must present the confirmation of the initial qualification to the driving licence authority, which will then enter the key number 95 as proof of the initial qualification/further training in your driving licence.
Further information can also be found on the website of the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).
