Public appointment and swearing-in of auctioneers

Anyone wishing to act as an auctioneer must be publicly appointed and sworn in by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

The procedure begins with an application and detailed preliminary discussions. After the examination of the documents to be submitted, a review of the so-called special expertise is usually carried out before a panel of experts. A preliminary review of the list of auctions, publications and other qualifications is carried out and an evaluation of submitted objects as well as a written and oral review is carried out. The review procedure ends with a vote by the expert committee and the expert committee of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

In a festive setting, a swearing-in of the auctioneer to be appointed is carried out by the President/President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, while the auctioneer to be appointed signs the declaration of commitment, the declaration of swearing-in and the consent to the use of the data. The auctioneer then receives his order certificate, the auctioneer's card and the auctioneer's stamp.

The order will be published.
Publicly appointed auctioneers will be included in Internet directories with their consent.
In addition, the appointing bodies issue lists and directories for their district or region in order to inform courts and authorities, business and the public.

  • Application
  • Copy of the auctioneer's permit,
  • Copy of the auctioneer's own terms and conditions and
  • List of auctions of the last 3 years.

Application forms can be obtained from the responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

The procedure takes about nine months.
A detailed preparation through visits to specialist seminars and several years of experience as an auctioneer is advisable.
