Car: Workshop card
Workshops require a workshop card to install and calibrate digital control equipment. These must be applied for at the district/district-free city.
Since 1 May 2006, vehicles must be equipped with digital recording equipment (driver card) instead of a tachograph.
Workshops require a workshop card to install and calibrate the digital recording equipment.
The workshop card must contain the following information:
- name of the workshop,
- Address of the workshop,
- surname/first name of the holder,
- Period of validity.
Driver, workshop and company cards are issued on request.
- Proof of business registration,
- Current recognition or commissioning of the workshop according to § 57 b Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StvZO),
- Identity card or passport with confirmation of registration of the applicant or the authorised representative (if necessary power of representation),
- Identity card or passport with confirmation of registration from the responsible specialist,
- Proof of training of the responsible specialist and
- Proof of the existing employment relationship with the responsible specialist.

Workshop cards are valid for 1 year.
