Upon request, the registration authority shall issue a written registration certificate to the person concerned. Upon request, the following additional data can also be included in an extended registration certificate: legal representative, spouse, partner and minor children each with Surname and first names, doctoral degree, date of birth, address, current nationalities, former addresses, Move-in date, move-out date and marital status Religion. A registration certificate may be required, for example, for the marriage. Certificates for other persons can only be served on the person concerned in writing or handed over on presentation of a power of attorney. Foreign citizens must present an extended registration certificate to their consulates for passport matters.

Registration certificates must be applied for in person or by an authorised person: the identity card or passport of the applicant, and if applicable, power of attorney.
