Feed control

Accompanying official controls of feed at all stages of production, processing and distribution.

With a value of around 10 billion euros, animal feed is the most important agricultural input in Germany. The demand for animal feed is around 66 million tons per year, which corresponds to about 8 times the consumption of cereals for human nutrition.

If the production and use of the feed is not targeted, careful and quality-oriented, considerable economic losses, possibly consumer damage and environmental pollution are incurred. This is to be prevented and at the same time precautionary consumer protection strengthened by means of official controls accompanying the product at all stages of production, processing and distribution of feedingstuffs - in short: feed control.
