Building surveying

Building owners who want to erect a new building that is important for the real estate cadastre or change its floor plan must arrange for a building measurement .

The real estate cadastre contains the state-wide and up-to-date proof of all land and buildings in Schleswig-Holstein that are significant under real estate law. Together with the land register, it ensures the securing of ownership of the land and gives it marketability and creditworthiness.

If you, as the building owner , erect a new building that is important for the real estate cadastre or change its floor plan, you are legally obliged to arrange for a building measurement. Which buildings are important for the real estate cadastre is regulated in a legal ordinance.

Only through the timely measurement of the buildings will the real estate cadastre be kept up-to-date and can meet the needs of citizens as well as law, administration, the economy, public safety and environmental and nature conservation.

Applications can be submitted informally.

Hints

If you do not fulfil your obligation to commission a building survey on time, the State Office for Surveying and Geoinformation Schleswig-Holstein can carry out or arrange for the necessary measures at your expense.
