Severely disabled people: Free use of public transport

Severely disabled people can, if certain conditions are met, apply for a token that entitles them to use public transport free of charge.

Severely disabled people who are significantly impaired or helpless in their ability to move on the road as well as blind and deaf people receive "free travel" in public transport. The prerequisite for the "free ride" is that you purchase a stamped supplement from the pension office.

Proof of receipt of subsistence benefits in accordance with SGB II, VIII or XII or in accordance with §§ 27a /27d of the Act on the Care of Victims of War (Bundesversorgungsgesetz - BVG).

The application for the supplements is informal.
