Apply for a housing premium

If you save money to buy, build or renovate a residential property, this can be encouraged with the housing premium under certain conditions. The premium is credited to the home savings account in addition to the annual savings amount.

Every home saver from the age of 16 receives the housing premium, as long as his taxable income does not exceed a certain limit.
In order to get the housing premium, you regularly pay into a home savings contract.
The savings must be at least 50 euros per year.
As a housing premium, you receive 10% on the contributions paid in the year.
You should spend your subsidized savings on "residential purposes". For example, you can use it to build or buy a house or condominium.
If you do not use your credit around a property, you must repay the housing premium.

You will receive the application for the housing premium every year together with your bank statement from your building society.
Fill out the form and send it back there.

The building society determines the housing premium on the basis of your information; subject to a later review by the tax authorities and informs you of the result. Unfounded housing premium applications are rejected by the building society itself.

You can also apply for the premium two years retroactively - after the end of the savings year.

The income limits are checked automatically by your residence tax office.

As part of a data comparison, it is checked whether the housing premium at various building societies has been set beyond the statutory maximum amounts. Furthermore, it is examined whether the income limits have been exceeded, housing premium for capital-forming benefits has been fixed, although there is a right to employee savings allowance and in the case of entitlement to employee savings allowance, the remaining expenses per building society are less than € 50.
If the determined housing premium is to be changed on the basis of the examination of the tax office, this will be communicated electronically to the building society.
As soon as your home savings contract has been allocated and the residential use has been proven, your premiums will be paid directly to your home savings account.
The recovery of unjustly granted housing premium is to be carried out by the building society.
