Day care centres / kindergartens

Day care centres and kindergartens serve the upbringing, education and care of children.

Day care facilities for children are used for the upbringing, education and care of children. Every child has a legal right to a place in kindergarten at the age of three.

The planning and guarantee responsibility for a needs-based offer lies with the districts and district-free cities (§ 6 Kindertagesstättengesetz - KiTaG). The districts are supported by their district-affiliated communities.
