Passport: Enter child Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

The entry of a child in the parental passport is no longer permitted since 01.11.2007. The background to this is the adaptation to international developments, to provide travellers of all ages with their own documents in order to prevent abuse and protect children. Due to renewed European regulations, children's entries in their parents' passports will be invalid from 26 June 2012 and will no longer entitle the child to cross the border. As a result, all children (from birth) must have their own travel document when travelling abroad. This also applies to travel within the European Union (Schengen area), even if border controls are suspended in this area. For the parents as passport holders, however, the document remains fully valid. Further information can be provided by the competent passport and identity card authorities.
