Matters relating to severely disabled persons
The Rhineland-Palatinate State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Care is responsible for matters relating to severely disabled persons. It has the following tasks:
- Advice on questions of law on severely disabled persons,
- Determination of disabilities according to the Severely Disabled Persons Act (SGB IX) including compensation for disadvantages (mark),
- issuing and renewing disability passes,
- Establish the conditions for the free transport of severely disabled persons on public passenger transport and/or exemption/reduction from motor vehicle tax and issue of corresponding supplements.
