Vehicle: 100 km/h approval for combinations

Approval for a maximum speed of 100 km/h on motorways and motor roads is possible for:

  • Passenger car with trailer
  • multi-lane motor vehicles with a permissible gross vehicle weight of up to 3.5 tonnes with trailer and
  • Buses with a permissible gross vehicle weight of up to 3.5 tonnes with trailer.

The trailer must first be presented to an officially recognised expert or a corresponding body such as TÜV, Dekra or GTÜ. There it is checked whether your trailer meets the technical requirements for this speed. If this is the case, you will receive a confirmation from the Admissions Office.

Before going to the expert, please contact the manufacturer of your trailer; an approval for 100 km/h may already be available.

A personal interview is required. It may also be carried out by an authorised person.

  • Registration certificate Part I of the trailer;
  • if you are still in possession of the old vehicle documents ( vehicle registration document and vehicle registration), both must be presented.
  • Expert opinion of an officially recognized expert/inspector (e.g. TÜV, Dekra, GTÜ) on the fulfilment of the technical requirements or confirmation of the manufacturer

If you instruct a third party to register the change, they will need a written power of attorney from you; in addition, he must present your identity document (in the original) to the admissions office. He himself must have the identity document that applies to him with him in order to identify himself.
