Severely disabled people can apply for a parking permit under certain conditions. The parking permit allows parking in places where this is not normally permitted.
Eligible persons can also use the parking concessions if they are a passenger. A driver's license is not required.
The parking permit together with the written exemption is valid as proof.
There are two versions of the parking permit.
Blue parking permit:
- valid throughout Europe
- entitles the holder to park in parking spaces with a wheelchair symbol
Orange parking permit:
- Valid nationwide
Both parking permits entitle the holder to park in the following places
- in restricted no-stopping zones for up to 3 hours; applicants may be authorized a longer parking time for certain no-stopping zones. The arrival time must be indicated on a parking disk
- under certain conditions in traffic-calmed areas
- in parking spaces for residents for up to 3 hours
- during the loading time in pedestrian zones where loading and unloading is permitted for certain times
- at parking meters and parking ticket machines without charge and time limit
- in areas where parking is prohibited, even outside the permitted parking period
- beyond the permitted time in places where parking time is limited
