You may temporarily enter the trade in Germany with a motor vehicle registered in another Member State of the European Union or another State Party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. This temporary use is limited to one year.
A valid registration certificate issued by a competent body of the other Member State or the other Contracting State. The registration certificate is carried. No regular location in Germany. The vehicle is safe for operation and traffic. The certificate of registration is drawn up in German and in its form complies with Directive 1999/37/EC or Article 35 of the Convention on Road Transport of 8 November 1968. If not, a confirmed translation must also be carried. Motor vehicles registered in another State must have their domestic registration plates at the front and back. Motorcycles only need a license plate at the back. Trailers registered in another State must have their domestic registration plate at the rear or, if it is not allocated or issued, the number plate of the towed motor vehicle. Such vehicles must also have the distinguishing sign of the registration state (nationality number plate), unless that distinguishing sign is already listed on the left edge of the number plate in accordance with European law requirements.
