After completion of an urban redevelopment project in accordance with the Building Code, the municipality requires the owners of the land located in the formally defined redevelopment area to pay compensation. The compensatory amount is based on the land value increase determined by the evaluation committees. This is the difference between the land value that would result from the land if a remediation had not been intended or carried out (initial value) and the land value resulting from the legal and actual reorganisation of the formally defined redevelopment area (final value).
