Recognising foreign professional qualifications Equivalence is examined with the degree "State-recognised educator", which is awarded in Rhineland-Palatinate to technical schools for social services, specializing in social pedagogy. If there is no comprehensive equivalence, it is checked whether recognition is possible for parts of the field of activity of the educator profession (e.B.g. kindergarten, nativity scene, hoarding/all-day school, home, youth work). In the event of significant differences, a decision will be taken on compensatory measures, i.e. adaptation courses or aptitude tests at the applicant's choice. It will also check whether there is sufficient German language skills to practise the profession (minimum level C1 of the European Framework of Reference).

All copied documents must be officially certified. Foreign language documents must be provided in the original language and as a translation by a publicly appointed or court-appointed interpreter.
The application may be made informally.
Vocational training must be completed in the country of origin (end product). It must be able to provide independent and self-responsible education for children and young people outside the classroom, e.B. in daycare centres (kindergartens, nurseries and hoardings) or in inpatient facilities for children's and young people's aid (homes) or in extracurricular youth work or in activities in schools outside the provision of lessons (all-day school, support school, priority school). The training or occupational part of the training should have lasted at least three years full-time or correspondingly longer part-time in the country of origin. The level of training must correspond to at least one certificate within the meaning of Article 11(b) of Directive 2005/36/EC.
If recognition as an educator is not possible: Applications to daycare centres are still possible. The institution (not the applicants!) can apply for an exemption from the daycare supervision (in the National Youth Office) in accordance with the provisions of the "Specialist Agreement for Daycare Centres". In the case of all-day schools, applications must be sent directly to all-day schools.
