Recognising foreign professional qualifications Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.
At your request, the Ministry of Education may examine the professional recognition of the profession of teacher in the public school service, which is regulated in Germany, and determine recognition as a teacher's qualification or equivalence with a teacher's qualification acquired in Rhineland-Palatinate.
In the case of a teacher training qualification from an EU country, an EEA country and a State assimilated by agreements: application (see applications/forms), tabular list of completed training courses and the activity carried out as a teacher, proof of the nationality of a Member State of the European Union, an EEA State or a State assimilated by agreements; certificates of training within the meaning of Directive 2005/36/EC, including the overview of subjects and grades, as well as proof of duration of training, or other comparable qualifications, evidence showing the contents of the training completed in order to obtain the teacher's professional qualification, marriage certificate or life partnership certificate, if the current name differs from the name on the certificate of training or the certificate of qualification, certificates of type and duration of activities carried out so far as a teacher, Explanation of whether and, if so, with what result an application has been made in another country of the Federal Republic of Germany, underwent an adaptation course or an aptitude test has been taken. On request, the study regulations and the examination regulations must be submitted for the qualification of the teacher's profession. Further documents required for recognition may be requested. In the case of a teacher training qualification from a third country: application (see applications/forms), tabular list of completed training courses and the activity carried out as a teacher, proof of nationality, official certified copies of the original as well as the German translation of the university diplomas (in particular the certificate of professional qualification which entitles to direct access to the teaching profession) including the overview of subjects and grades, official certified copies of the original as well as the German translation of the evidence showing the contents of the completed training in order to obtain the diploma (e.B. transcript of records, semester lists), if the current name differs from the name on the proof of training or the qualification certificate, copy of the original as well as the German translations of the marriage certificate or life partnership certificate, if necessary, a certificate of the nature and duration of the activity carried out so far as a teacher, upon request in a certified copy/copy of the original, if necessary, using certified translations, Explanation of whether and, if so, with what result an application for equivalence was made in another Land of the Federal Republic of Germany. On request, the study regulations and the examination regulations must be submitted for the qualification of the teacher's profession. Further documents required for recognition may be requested.
If you have obtained your teaching qualification in an EU state, an EEA state or a state assimilated by agreements, it may be recognised as a qualification for an equivalent teaching position in schools in Rhineland-Palatinate if: you are a national of a Member State of the European Union (EU), another State Party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA, currently Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein) or a State equivalent by agreement (currently Switzerland), your professional qualification certificate has been issued by the competent authority of an EU Member State, an EEA State or a State assimilated by agreements; Your professional qualification qualification is entitled to direct access to the profession of teacher in the country of origin and the occupational profile corresponds essentially with the occupational profile for the respective Rhineland-Palatinate teaching post, the training required to obtain the vocational qualification, taking into account relevant professional experience or other formally recognised knowledge, skills and competences, does not differ significantly from the training required for the respective teaching post in Rhineland-Palatinate. Significant differences identified can be compensated by a compensatory measure. If you have acquired your apprenticeship qualification in a country other than the above-- you have a university examination completed at a recognised university, this university examination in the country of origin opens up access to the profession of a teacher, Your university studies, if necessary taking into account other professional qualifications, have no significant differences in content and scope compared to the corresponding Rhineland-Palatinate teaching-related bachelor's and master's degree programmes. In particular, in addition to the educational sciences, higher education must include two of the subjects prescribed for the respective teaching position in Rhineland-Palatinate, and special educational disciplines for the teaching of special education schools, a school-practical training phase comparable to the 18-month preparatory service. If these cannot be demonstrated or there are substantial differences with the respective preparatory service, the equivalence with regard to access to the preparatory service for the relevant teaching post may be established, provided that the other conditions are met.
