Dog tax exemption Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

If you are dependent on a dog because of your disability, you are usually exempt from dog tax. However, the conditions are different in each municipality. An exemption often depends on whether the disabled person is dependent on the accompaniment of a dog. The tax exemption applies to dogs that are indispensable for the protection and assistance of blind, deaf or otherwise completely helpless persons. In addition, rescue dogs that have passed appropriate training and examination are usually exempt from dog tax. In most Rhineland-Palatinate municipalities, a tax exemption is currently granted in accordance with the model statutes of the Association of Municipalities and Cities of Rhineland-Palatinate.
