The amount of the care allowance depends on the extent of the necessary care. It is divided into six stages. Level I: 305.00 Euro (from 01.07.17: 311 Euro) Stage II: 521.00 Euro (from 01.07.17: 531 Euro) Stage III: 741 ,00 Euro (from 01.07.17: 755Euro) Stage IV: 951.00 Euro (from 01.07.17: 969 Euro) Stage V: 1,235.00 Euro (from 01.07.17: 1,258 Euro) Level VI: 1,519 ,00 Euro (from 01.07.17: 1,548 Euro) The classification is examined individually for each case. Blind people receive at least level III.

Preconditions
Helplessness The injured are helpless when they need permanently foreign help for a number of frequently and regularly recurring activities to secure their personal existence in the course of each day. These conditions are also met if: assistance is required in the form of monitoring or guidance, or the aid does not need to be provided on a permanent basis, but a constant willingness to provide assistance is required. Helplessness is assumed for the following diseases: in case of blindness and severe visual impairment Paraplegia and other disabilities requiring the use of a wheelchair in the long term and permanently, including within the living room in the case of brain damage, seizure disorders, intellectual disability and psychosis, if these disabilities alone require a GdS of 100 Loss of two or more limbs, excluding lower leg or foot amputation on both sides
You can apply for the care allowance from the competent body. If you are unable to visit the competent body (e.g. for health reasons), send an informal application and attach the required documents in a copy. The certificate will then be sent to you.
