Veterinarian from EU Member State: temporary exercise of the profession without a licence to practise medicine - Notification

Receipt of the notification of cross-border provision of services in Rhineland-Palatinate

The temporary and occasional pursuit of the profession of veterinarian from EU Member States without a licence must be notified to the competent authority.

When notifying, you must present the following certificates:

  • proof of nationality,
  • proof that you are legally established as a veterinarian in a Member State and that you are not prohibited from practising that profession, even temporarily, at the time of presentation of the certificate;
  • a professional qualification (veterinary diploma, certificate or other veterinary qualification).
  • if necessary. Information on insurance cover/professional liability
  • knowledge of the German language required for the provision of the service must be available
  • Notification of duration, frequency, regular recurrence and continuity of service

The certificates must not be older than 12 months on presentation.

  • Submission of an updated certificate from the competent authority that the notifier is legally established as a veterinarian in a Member State and that, at the time of presentation of the certificate, the exercise of the profession is not prohibited, even temporarily.
