Discharge of waste water into public wastewater treatment plants: permit Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

A drainage permit is required for connection to and use of the public sewage treatment plant.

The competent authority has laid down in its drainage statutes discharge conditions for the waste water in order to ensure the proper operation of the sewerage system and the sewage treatment plant. When granting the drainage permit, it shall also decide whether pre-treatment of waste water is necessary, particularly in the industrial and commercial sectors.

In addition, the Lower Saxony Water Act requires a special authorisation requirement for the discharge of certain types of waste water which may contain hazardous substances. The competent authority shall provide information on this

Documents may be required. Please contact the appropriate body.



  • at the land drainage system,
  • the waste water conditions underlying the drainage permit, or
  • at the connection to the sewage plant

require permission to amend. Information shall be provided by the competent body.

The discharge of collected precipitation water directly into an above-ground body of water and the infiltration of precipitation water require a water permit (direct entry permit).
