Outdoor advertising is the form of advertising in which the advertising medium is located in public spaces. The affixing of outdoor advertising is usually subject to authorisation.

Where appropriate, a special use permit may also be required for the use of public space. In individual cases, you will be advised by the building inspectorate or the respective municipal administration.
There are also non-approved advertising systems in accordance with clause 10 of Appendix 1 to Section 60 of the Lower Saxony Building Code (NBauO), e.g. for advertising systems with a viewing area of up to 1sqm, for advertising installations for temporary events or for advertising installations that are temporarily public elections.
Moreover, nBauO does not apply to advertising materials affixed to the columns, panels or surfaces approved for this purpose.
