Driving licence: Exhibition - International driving licence Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

International driving licences are required for temporary stays in a country that is not part of the EU. The international driving licence is only a translation of the national EU driving licence and is therefore only valid in conjunction with it.

  • Identity card/passport with registration certificate
  • Presentation of the card driver's license
  • a photo (biometric) that complies with the provisions of the Passport Ordinance of 19 October 2007 (BGBl. I p. 2007, 2386)


  • The applicant must be the applicant's ordinary residence in the Federal Republic of Germany and within the competence of the issuing authority
  • be 18 years of age
  • Possession of the EU card driving licence or an EU/EEA driving licence
