Persons with statutory health insurance are entitled to medical treatment.
Persons with statutory health insurance are entitled to medical treatment if necessary. Medical treatment should be appropriate and necessary. It can
- disease prevention
or
- the early detection and treatment of diseases
serve.
Medical treatment also includes the assistance of other persons if this is prescribed by a doctor.
Legally insured persons can visit any doctor who is licensed for contractual medical care. These can be, for example, family doctors or specialists in medical care centers, practices or outpatient facilities. In most cases, it is advisable to first contact the family doctor.
