The international carriage of buses and coaches requires a Community licence issued by the competent authority of the Member State of establishment. The licence shall be issued in the name of the carrier for a renewable period of up to 10 years, is non-transferable and contains a serial number. A certified copy of the Community licence must be carried in each vehicle. EU Member States may decide that the Community licence also applies to transport by national transport.
