Registration certificate Notification - due to loss

In the event of loss of the certificate I or II, replacement documents shall be issued by the competent authority. If you suspect theft, you should definitely call the police!

In case of loss of registration certificate Part I (or old vehicle registration certificate):

  • Registration certificate II or old vehicle letter
  • affidavit of loss
  • valid report of the main investigation (HU)
  • valid identification documents of the vehicle owner
    • Identity card or passport with confirmation of registration - not older than 3 months
    • Driver's license and similar documents are not recognized!
  • for companies: Extract from the Commercial register
  • a power of attorney if a person of the responsible person applies for the Certificate of Registration Part I
    • the authorized Peron must identify himself

In case of loss of the registration certificate Part II (or old vehicle letter):

  • Registration certificate I or old vehicle registration certificate
  • affidavit of loss
  • If the registration certificate II/vehicle letter was not personally handed over to the holder at the time of registration, a certificate from the authorised person (e.g. car dealership) is required that the registration certificate II/vehicle letter has now been handed over to the holder.
  • valid identification documents of the vehicle owner
    • Identity card or passport with confirmation of registration - not older than 3 months
    • Driver's license and similar documents are not recognized!
  • for companies: Extract from the Commercial register
  • The registration certificate II/vehicle letter is provided by the Federal Motor Transport Authority and published in the traffic sheet. Only after the completion of the bidding procedure can the new certificate II be issued and handed over.

In the case of theft, a certificate of the refund of the advertisement must be presented to the police.

Hints

In the event of loss or theft of the Certificate of Registration Part II, authorisation is not possible. The registered holder must personally present to the competent authority in order to make the affidavit.
