Lists of drift-reducing seeding equipment: Equipment testing and registration application Substantial Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

Seed treated with certain crop protection agents may only be sown with drift-reducing seed drills listed by the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI). You must have your equipment or conversion kits tested by the JKI if they are to be included in the lists.

The JKI publishes on its website a list of tested seeders and conversion kits that work with negative pressure. These are so-called pneumatic seeders. The listed devices allow about 90 percent less dust to drift during sowing than other seeders.

As a manufacturer or commercial supplier, you can apply to have your seeder or conversion kit entered in the JKI list.

Farmers are only allowed to use the listed seed drills when they apply seed dressed with certain crop protection products. This applies regardless of whether the seed drill is a precision seed drill or a universal seed drill.

The aim of the test is environmental protection and nature conservation, especially of bees. If as little dust with crop protection agent abrasion as possible is released when sowing dressed seed, this protects nature.
