Obtaining a certificate of the time of birth
Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

The certificate of time of birth is proof of a person's exact time of birth. You can have a certificate of the time of birth issued on the basis of the birth register maintained by the responsible registry office.

The certificate is issued by the registry office that registered the birth. In federal states in which there is a central register network, it is also possible to obtain the birth time certificate from any other registry office.

A further authentication (legalisation/apostille) is not intended for the certificate.
To apply for a certificate of time of birth you will need:
  • Your identity card or passport (when applying in writing: certified copy),
  • if requested or collected by a representative: written authorization from the authorized person, their identity card or passport (original or certified copy) and the identity card or passport of the person represented.

Preconditions

Birth registers contain personal data, which is why information from them is subject to data protection restrictions.

  • the person to whom the birth register entry relates
  • the spouse or life partner (within the meaning of the Act on Registered Life Partnerships)
