Child benefit is child's play Information on the combination form for home births
Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

The analogue service “Child's play for child benefit” can also be used for home births in Hamburg. It is necessary that you, as parents, report the birth personally to the responsible registry office within one week and hand in the combination form for home births.
The registry office in whose district your child was born is responsible. With this verbal notification of the birth, you can present the "child's play for child benefit" combination form for home births to the registry office and thus use the service.
With the combination form you can
• determine the name of your child,
• order additional birth certificates and
• Apply for child benefit.
Your child will also be automatically entered in the registration system after the birth certificate. A tax ID is automatically issued by the Federal Central Tax Office.
The advantage is that you do not have to submit the child benefit application to your family benefits office yourself and you no longer have to enclose your child's birth certificate. You only hand in the documents once to the responsible registry office and the administration takes care of everything else.

The combination form for home births, a leaflet from the Hamburg registry offices and the "Notes on Service" for home births are available online. The combination form can be filled out online and must be printed out and signed for presentation at the registry office. You can also obtain the application documents from your midwife or at any Hamburg registry office.

You will receive a birth certificate from your midwife after the birth. You hand this in personally at the registry office together with the completed combination form when you report the birth.
It is not sufficient to send the documents by post or to put them in the registry office's mailbox.
Unless otherwise stated, present the original documents to your registry office.
Foreign-language documents must be submitted to the registry office together with a translation into the German language that has been prepared by a publicly sworn or recognized translator.
