Residence permit for citizens of Switzerland and their family members according to the agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation of June 21, 1999.
  • valid passport or ID card for citizens of Switzerland
  • valid passport for family members of the Swiss citizen
  • 1 current biometric photo, 35mm x 45mm, light background
  • Citizens of Switzerland must prove their right to freedom of movement
  • Employees present their employment contract
  • The self-employed submit their business registration
  • Freelancers submit their trade tax number from the tax office
  • Students submit their admission to the university or a certificate of enrollment
  • Family members require proof of their kinship with a Swiss citizen, e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate, registered same-sex partnership

Since September 1, 2011, citizens of Switzerland can choose whether they want to receive the residence permit in the form of a check card with additional electronic functions or in the previous form on a pre-printed sample.
