Laying hen registers and producer codes Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

Since 1 January 2004, only eggs from a laying hen barn for which a registration number (producer code) has been issued and which are marked with this corresponding producer code may be placed on the market (exception direct marketing see below). Registration is required Holdings holding 350 or more laying hens or Farms that keep fewer than 350 hens but market their eggs subject to labelling. If less than 350 hens are kept and the eggs are delivered without labelling and unsorted at the farm or at the door directly to the final consumer (direct marketing), there is no registration requirement. Note: Eggs offered on the weekly market are subject to the labelling requirement. The operation must therefore be registered.
