Feed control

Official feed monitoring covers all levels of feed production and trade, as well as farms. The legal basis for these checks is the EU Control Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 882/2004) together with the feed control programme for the years 2012 to 2016 " of the BMEL, BVL, BfR and the Länder This programme focuses on: The control is intended to prevent risks in the food chain from being transferred to humans via animals. The control of feedingstuffs is intended to ensure the health of animals. The purpose of the controls is to verify the nutritional quality of the feed, mainly by identifying the valuable ingredients. The investigation parameters include, but are not only: Ingredients, e.g. crude protein, fat, energy content Additives, coccidiostats, trace elements and spreads of pharmacological agents. Unwanted substances, such as dioxins, heavy metals, chlorinated hydrocarbons (CKS), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), mycotoxins Pesticides Prohibited and prohibited substances The controls shall include premixtures, feed, complete feed, supplementary feed and additives.
