Belt and helmet wear obligation - Exemption Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

In order to protect road users, the legislator has stipulated that seat belts must be fitted during the journey and that safety helmets must be worn when driving motorcycles. However, it is possible to be exempted from this obligation on request. The resulting significant security risk is at the expense of the applicant. They may be exempted from the belt-laying obligation, if it is not possible to wear seat belts for health reasons. if the height is less than 150 cm. They may be exempted from the helmet wearing obligation, if it is not possible to wear a protective helmet for health reasons.

Provided that the conditions for exemption of a health nature are met, a medical certificate must be presented that the exemption to be applied for is mandatory for medical reasons. A diagnosis does not need to include the certificate. For the height less than 150 cm, a medical certificate with the measured height must also be brought along.
