School - Freedom of learning aids Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

In Hesse, the so-called freedom of learning aids applies: students or their parents do not have to purchase learning aids such as textbooks, materials for science teaching or learning software at their own expense. Instead, they can be borrowed for a certain period of time. Certain items are exempt from the freedom to learn and must be brought by the students themselves. These include, for example, writing and drawing material, calculators and musical instruments. On the other hand, the school authorities are responsible for the purchase of teaching materials such as sports equipment or wall maps.
