Sailing non-navigable waters - Approval

Hesse is not only located in the centre of air and land transport, but also in the network of the most important European waterways.
Beyond the federal waterways, the Ginsheimer Altrhein has been designated as navigable in Hesse from km 1.5 to its mouth in the Rhine.

There is no authorisation to sail non-navigable waters with motorised watercraft.

However, any person may use natural flowing waters with small vehicles without their own propulsion, unless special legislation or rights of others conflict.
