The assembly authority in Bremen is the public order office. In Bremen the assembly law (VersammlG) of the federation applies. Applicants can obtain advice on details of meetings from the public order office. In the event of ambiguities or more extensive planning needs, the Public Order Office invites applicants to a cooperation meeting in which ambiguities can be resolved and any problems solved, if necessary together with the police. Especially if you would like to hold a meeting in the city centre, it is advisable to first contact the public order office by telephone, so that it can be clarified which central places are available at the desired date. The registration and execution of the meeting is free of charge.

Registration for the meeting can be made in person or in writing (letter, e-mail, fax). Anyone who wishes to hold a public meeting (rally, elevator) under the open sky must register it with the public order office at least 48 hours before announcement in accordance with § 14 VersammlG. Announcement of a meeting means to publish the meeting with place, time and topic, e.g. by making it public on homepages, distribution of leaflets or calls in open social networks.
