Animal stock declaration and declaration obligation for specially protected species in domestic animal husbandry Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

Any person keeping vertebrate animals of the specially protected species must notify the competent authority in writing immediately after the start of the keeping of the animals and, after the stock declaration, immediately after the arrival and departure of the animals and the identification of animals.

Vertebrates are living creatures which have a skeleton with a vertebral column. Vertebrates include mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish.
Conversely, there are no vertebrates: Molluscs (e.g. mussels, snails), annelids (e.g. leeches), cnidarians (e.g. jellyfish), protozoa (amoebae) and insects.

The obligation to register concerns all non-commercial keepers of specially protected vertebrates and applies both to the owner of the animal (who registers the animal) and to the owner of the animal (who registers the animal). Exceptions exist for certain species, which are listed under "Publications".
