The authentication of these documents is for a specific purpose. In case of doubt, it will be checked whether a certification can be carried out according to the relevant regulations.

The following documents may be authenticated for the purpose of presentation to German offices or authorities:

• ID cards
• Passports ( no visas from USA)

Preconditions

• Presentation of the original document
• Copies are always made on site. Copies brought along will not be accepted.

Important: This is a service provided by a local authority. You can therefore only go to an office in your place of residence.

Hints

• Certificates can also be certified by the issuing school
• Documents under private law or for private use can be certified by any notary public.
• The certification of foreign documents is carried out by the respective foreign missions.
