Help for young adults and aftercare Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

The "Help for young adults" includes various services that are suitable for young adults. The help is intended to help people between 18 and 21 to lead a life of personal responsibility and self-determination. When an application is submitted, it is examined which assistance is appropriate in each individual case. Provided that the person has reached the age of 21, follow-up care can be granted in justified individual cases as continued assistance.

  • The applicant is between 18 and 21 years old.
  • There is a lack of competence to shape an independent lifestyle.
  • If personality development appears to be at risk or there is an educational need, young adults who did not receive benefits before their 18th birthday may also receive assistance. Threats include mental disabilities, unemployment, housing shortages and family problems.

If no child and youth welfare benefits were paid before you came of age, you can usually only apply for assistance until your 21st birthday.

Please contact the responsible office with your problems. They will decide whether you are entitled to assistance for young adults and will then help you with your application.
