The work of the border inspection post serves the
protection of the EU states against the introduction of animal diseases from abroad

Special provisions for personal travel: The import of food of animal origin from countries outside the EU is largely prohibited.
The border inspection posts in Bremen, Bremerhaven and Cuxhafen are not approved for the clearance of live animals from third countries. There is also no border control point at Bremen Airport.
