Egg packing centre - Apply for authorisation Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.
Egg packing centres are establishments which sort, label, pack and/or repack eggs according to quality and weight classes. Egg packing centres may only be operated if they are approved by the competent authority on request under market law and if a packing point identification number has been assigned. If eggs are delivered directly to the final consumer from the farm (production site), at the front door or on a public market and not according to quality and weight classes, no approval as a packing centre is required. Direct marketers who want to market eggs through a trading partner (retailer, baker, kiosk, other direct marketer, etc.) or who want to offer eggs sorted by size and quality class or have a sales radius of more than 100 kilometers, require approval as a packing center.

If your application is granted, the authority will provide you with the identification number you need to mark the packaging of eggs (packing point number). The permission can be revoked at any time if the necessary conditions are no longer met.
