Egg packing centre - apply for approval Unfortunately this specification of service has not yet been completely translated.

Egg packing centres are holdings which sort, label, package and/or repack eggs by grade and weight. Egg packing centres may only be operated if they are authorised by the competent authority on request and a packing point identification number has been assigned. If eggs are delivered directly to the final consumer from the farm (production site), at the front door or on a public market and not according to quality and weight classes, no approval as a packing centre is required. Direct marketers who market eggs through a trading partner (retail, baker, kiosk, other direct marketers, etc.) or who wish to offer eggs sorted by size and quality or have a sales radius of more than 100 kilometres require approval as a packing centre.
