If not, you can compensate for the differences identified by completing an adjustment course or taking an aptitude exam. The content of an adaptation course or an aptitude test shall be determined individually by the competent authority. Adaptation course: In the state of Brandenburg there are no standardized adaptation courses, but individually tailored compensation options. For example, it is possible to complete guided internships. The duration of the adaptation course depends on the individual case. It lasts a maximum of three years. Aptitude test: An aptitude test is an examination in which you test your competence for the profession of state-recognised educator. An aptitude test is not a new final examination. The aptitude test relates only to the significant differences identified. You can choose whether you want to take an adaptation course or an aptitude test. In case of a compensatory measure, German language language level B2 is also required. As a rule, you must provide proof of this before the start of a compensatory measure. If you successfully complete the compensatory measure and submit the proof solitude in writing to the Cottbus State School Board, the equivalence between your foreign education and the technical education course in the field of social pedagogy in Brandenburg will be certified in writing. If you additionally demonstrate your personal and health aptitude as well as the required language skills, you will be granted state recognition as an educator.
