Access to higher education for gifted people without university entrance

The promotion of talented people in Germany consists mainly of state-funded student grants, which are awarded by gifted sponsors and foundations to particularly gifted students, mostly in the form of scholarships. In order to receive a gifted support, a proposal must be made by a headteacher/university teacher/department or an informal application must be submitted to the gifted support organisations. Prerequisite is enrolment at a German university or a German degree with doctoral degree at a German university. The award is made in a merit-based selection procedure.
