Residence Registration

Anyone who moves into an apartment must register with the competent registration authority within two weeks of moving in. In this case, you do not need to unsubscribe from your previous reporting authority.

Preconditions
Personal appearance (representation possible): You can only register on site. You may also be represented by another person if you give that person a power of attorney.

Hints
If the notification is not made in due time within two weeks of collection, this may be punishable by a fine as an administrative offence. Please comply with your reporting obligation to avoid unnecessary problems and hassle. If you do not comply with your reporting obligation or do not comply in time, you will experience problems, for example, with vehicle registration, obtaining a driving licence or applying for a driving certificate. In addition, your identity card and, if applicable, your motor vehicle license must also be changed.
Within two weeks of your arrival, you must register with the relevant reporting authority. The application is usually processed immediately upon presentation of the required documents.
