Display of activities with biological agents

The obligation to notify under Section 16 (1) (1) (1) of the Biosubstance Ordinance (BioStoffV) is limited to the first-time inclusion of targeted activities with biomaterials of risk group 2 as well as activities with biomaterials of risk group 3, which are not subject to authorisation. Activities with biomaterials of risk group 3 that are not subject to authorisation are targeted and non-targeted activities with biomaterials of risk group 3, which are labelled with (**) and non-targeted activities with biomaterials of risk group 3, which are assigned to protection level 2 according to the outcome of the risk assessment. The notification obligation also applies to changes to activities that are already permitted or displayed that are relevant for the safety and health protection of your employees. If you discontinue an activity subject to a permit in accordance with Section 15 of the BioStoffV, you must also indicate this.

Before you, as an employer, have biological agents handled in your company, indicate this in writing: It is enough to have an informal display. Add the necessary evidence. Submit the advertisement and the required documents/messages to the LAVG.
