Activities with pathogens Change indication

If significant changes occur in your activities with pathogens, you must immediately notify the State Office for Occupational Safety, Consumer Protection and Health (LAVG).

You must be notified if you are responsible for the activities with pathogens under infection protection law.

If you have already received permission to work with pathogens and have indicated the first commencement of activity, you must notify the LAVG immediately if

  • significant changes are made in the nature and scope of the activity, the nature of the premises and facilities or the disposal measures,
  • significant changes in personnel in management positions occur,
  • terminates the activity with pathogens, or
  • the activity with pathogens is resumed.

Even if there is no permission requirement, you must report changes in accordance with § 50 IfSG.

If you work under the supervision of a person who has a permit or is exempt from the permit requirement, you do not need to report a change in activity.

Significant changes in accordance with § 50 IfSG with regard to the following points must be substantiated by documents / written notifications to be submitted:

  • Rooms and equipment
  • Activities with pathogens
  • Disposal measures
  • Personnel in management positions
  • Termination / resumption of activity

Significant changes in your activities with pathogens should be noted in writing:

  • An informal display is sufficient.
  • Add the necessary evidence.
  • Submit the notification as well as the required documents/notifications to the LAVG.
