List of architects Registration for diplomas from abroad
The professional title "architect" or "architect", "interior architect" or "interior architect", "garden and landscape architect" or "garden and landscape architect", "urban planner" or "urban planner" may only be used by those who are entered under the corresponding designation in the list of architects of the Landes-Architektenkammer.
With examination of the certificate of competency: Certified copy of the university certificate and the university certificate (or an equivalent educational institution within the meaning of Section 4 BbgArchG) Official translation of the above-mentioned documents Proof of the standard study period for bachelor's and master's degrees Equivalence assessment of educational attainment Evidence of two years of professional practice in the applied field since graduation (employer certificates, project table, project descriptions incl. photos and plans in A4); The requirements for evidence of practical activity may vary depending on where the applicant has been working; Details in Section 4 paragraph 3 BbgArchG. Higher education qualifications, which are substantially different from the requirements of a German degree, can be adjusted by so-called compensatory measures; Details in Sections 4 (4) and 5 BbgArchG. Applications can be submitted to the Chamber of Architects in writing at any time.
In accordance with Section 4 (1) bbgArchG, a person who is is able, as an architect, to perform the professional tasks in the respective field of expertise in accordance with Section 3 bbgArchG, and has its main residence in the Land of Brandenburg or has its place of business or predominant professional employment. has successfully completed a course of study corresponding to the respective subject area with a period of at least four years of regular study at a German university, university, university of applied sciences or equivalent school in accordance with the guidelines on training content laid down in the annex to this provision, has subsequently carried out at least two years of practical activity in the relevant field, and in the case of a freelance or commercial activity for third parties has professional liability insurance in accordance with Section 10 bbgArchG.
The entry in the list of architects takes place without examination of the certificates of competence, if a deletion from the list of architects is not more than two years ago and no reason for refusal exists.
Section 4 (1) - 4 Brandenburg Architects Act (BbgArchG)

Registration shall be made on request. The Chamber of Architects shall confirm receipt of the documents and certificates by the applicant within one month and, if necessary, inform him which documents and certificates are missing. The application shall be decided within three months of receipt of the full documents. The registration committee decides on the entry in the list of architects. The registration committee shall consist of the chairman or persons and the required number of members. The registration committee shall decide in the composition of the chairman or their representative and four members, of whom at least two of whom must be members of the specialised field of the applicant. If the professional qualification of the applicant within the meaning of Article 14(1) of Directive 2005/36/EC differs materially from the requirements for registration referred to in paragraph 1, the applicant may be required to take compensatory measures in the form of a maximum of three years of adaptation or an aptitude test in order to compensate for significant deviations in the content of the training referred to in the first sentence of paragraph 1. If the certificate of training corresponds to the level of professional qualifications set out in Article 11(a) of Directive 2005/36/EC, the Chamber of Architects may refuse registration. In the cases of Article 11(b) of Directive 2005/36/EC and in the field of architecture, the applicant's skills are checked by aptitude test. In addition, the applicant has the choice between taking part in an adaptation course or an aptitude test (Section 4 paragraph 4 BbgArchG)
