Voter register for the European elections Registration

An official electoral register is kept for each constituency. In principle, persons entitled to vote (EU nationals only if certain conditions are met) who are registered with their main residence on the 42nd day before the election are entered on the electoral register of their own motion and receive an election notification no later than the 21st day before the election. If you have not received an election notification until the 21st day before the election, you should immediately check with your municipality whether you are on the electoral roll. If this is not the case, you can apply for registration. EU nationals who have not been entered on the electoral roll of their own motion can submit a written application to the municipal electoral authority no later than the 21st day before the election (Section 17a EuWO). Since the election notification cards are regularly sent well before the 21st day before the election, you should ask the municipal electoral authority from the 30th day before the election if the election is not received. If you have a different situation, e.B. immigration to the municipality after the 42nd day before the election, please contact the municipal electoral authority immediately.

Municipal Electoral Authority

It makes sense for Germans and EU nationals to check with the municipal electoral authority from the.dem 30th day before the election if you are registered with the voters from about the 30th day before the election. If this is not the case, the authority will explain the necessary steps.
